A short weekend jolly with a full boat, the passengers being our daughter's family including an 18 month old. So all interesting removable objects which might be construed as decorating the cabin to be removed to save them from those inquisitive fingers, and storage space created for the personal effects which bill be brought along including a travel cot which conveniently just fits at the foot of the captain's cabin bed. We selected Braunston as it offers the chance of the three Hillmorton Locks to motivate the 8 year old son. A pleasant day with no problems, even a bit of broken sunshine to cheer us up although the cold wind persists. We arrived at 13:30 in good time to get a mooring just past the junction. A foray into the village found that the "Old Plough" pub has a decent kiddies play area. Dinner that evening at the Boathouse was rather disappointing in the quality of the food and the feeling that the 2 for 1 offering was based on small portions.
