Rain threatened but held off until after we arrived at Hawkesbury Junction. Two crabby looking ponies were tethered on the grass by the moorings, keeping circular patches of grass short. This meant that Alfie could not be let loose as he would cetainly challenge them. I suggested that he should be taken and introduced properly which I suppose he was later. he decided to give them a wide berth. Then there were swans with babies around. Got quite agressive with the boat when we told them that one slice of bread was all that was good for them. The parents are quite happy to take it all and do not give their offspring any advantage. The pub was full at lunchtime. We didn't try in the evening but enjoyed a gammon steak with all the usual trimmings on the boat thanks to Pat.
