Rain was promised today but we only has a few very light showers. Highlights were the three locks to the summit pound and the Foulridge Tunnel. All the while the canal is clinging to the hillside one way or another so the views really are magnificent. We reached the tunnel services just as a trip boat of pensioners from Crayford off loaded, so we were a little bit of waterside activity for them. Still looking for somewhere to buy a pint of milk we moved on the the tunnel mouth where we had the red lights, so a waiting game but useful for a spot of lunch.
Not very far further on we came to the extensive Barrowford moorings above the seven lock flight leaving down to the Burnley pound.
