We were due to leave this morning for Keadby at 8.00am, but one look at the weather finished that idea. The wind was gusting rocking the boat about, with heavy rain at times and cold with it. The thought of standing on the back of the boat for 4 - 5 hours in that was not a happy one. The lock-keeper agreed and had we wanted to go would have strongly advised us not to. The lock-keepers cannot stop us but it is wise to listen to their experience and advice. So we retired to the boat with the central heating on. Things improved a little in the afternoon, but still with gusting wind shaking us about, so I decided to add some battery sensing wires to the solar panel regulator which should have been done all along. No big deal, but later when we tried to turn the central heating on - nothing! Oh dear! Did I disturb a wire while messing with the batteries? Too late to find out now.
