Today we were expecting to move down to Wisbech on the tide. The lock-keeper had briefed us and we were expecting to be penned down at 1:15pm. He was expecting a boat coming up on the tide and wanted us waiting with the bottom gates open for us to leave at 1:30, or receive the other boat. At around midday Angela received a phone call to say that the wind forecast for Saturday was stronger thaan expected and we would not be going after all. Sunday would be better. So another 25 hours to wait! Rather than go down today and have to spend two nights on Wisbech Yacht Harbour pontoons (expensive) and thinking of dog walking possibilities we decided to stay and have another evening in the Dog in a Doublet. Another excellent meal - really fine dining at pub prices. The choice of beer might be a bit limited, though.
