With winds forecast to gust at over 50mph its was felt sensible to stay put. We are only a short walk away from the town centre and we have the safe field for Alfie to guard. With rain not forecast until later I thought it was safe to take the opportunity to put some paint on the rear seating area where windlasses have chipped the pain. This worked out well and the tanneau cover was used to protect the area as the paint dried. Water levels varied during the day by as much as 3 inches and as the wind was driving the boat onto the bank some listing as the levels fell was inevitable and a worry for overnight. I took the opportunity to check the fuel separator (no water) and ordered some spare fuel filters to pick up at Ely in preparation for the trip across the wash as is recommended.
