The return to Denver Sluice from Ely seemed to take ages. It had also become very windy again which made the journey less than pleasant. At Brandon Creek we turned right to seek out the diesel supply suggested by our friend Brian, whose moored boat we soon passed. The landing stage and diesel pump was soon found and Pat went off to the farmhouse to get service. A very friendly and efficient process (cash or debit card). Needing to turn back we were advised to go up river to a bridge where it widens out - about 20 minutes further on. Perhaps on a warm sunny day and with no rush to get to Denver anyway we might have gone right on to the limit of navigation at Brandon, but the weather was tiring and uncomfortable. We continued back to the main river and then downstream stopping finally at Denver No1 EA moorings. Our slot for the tide is 10:45 tomorrow. Then it will be back to the Middle Levels.
