Another cold and frosty morning with pale blue sky. Set off at 7.00 am and made steady progress with virtually no other boats moving until Fisheries, then Winkwell. There is quite a lot of water about, with gates overtopping and the rivers running well, but no real difficulties encountered save Sewer Lock where the bottom gates were found a bit leaky and there was suspicion that the offside ground paddle didn't work. Lots of bankside folk about, cyclists, runners, walkers, fishermen and kids willing to help with gates. Plenty of moorings available. We passed the Crystal Palace pub and moored on the Waitrose side above lock 53. Possibly quieter.
