After a day out yesterday for Pat's late Uncle Sid's funeral, we are nopw retracing our steps back to Harefield. Our suspicion that with all the rain last weekend, the flows at Oxford, in particular the narrow stream at Osney bridge, would be such as to prevent progress has been bourne out. We are now going downstream on yellow boards (indicating strong stream). After a refuelling stop at Better Boats Caversham, and shopping at Tesco, we are now at Henley after an essentially uneventful trip.
We thought we would try the nice moorings by Mill Meadows upstream of the bridge. It is £9.00 for overnight, but at least we are on rings. Oh! And it's raining.
