Alvecote

An early start and a long day today.  Our schedule took us down to Great Haywood Junction,where incidentally I purchased a new front fender. The old one was falling to bits. No queues, though some boats were on the move.  Colwich lock, where there is often a long queue was open for us.  We pressed on through Fradley Junction and Fazeley Junction and stopped just before Alvecote Marina.  The day had been grey and overcast with the threat of rain which at least held off until we moored up for the night.  It was necessary to light the fire in the end.
