Lockings out this morning were all well organised. We were in the second group with Terry on Arun and John on Ernest. Out on the tideway we made good progress and soon caught up with the first lot who were holding back for us. Once the third group was seen leaving the marine we all pressed on, the idea being to wait at Deptford Creek until the group from the Royal Docks had passed though the barrier. We had not long to wait and were soon waiting for some rubbish barge tows to pass before entering the huge West India Dock Lock. Because of the ample time allowed, there had been no rush and no need for panic. The cruise was, therefore, thoroughly enjoyable and a great experience. Why have so few signed up? Tomorrow we are off on the Campaign Cruise proper, our banners distributed by the IWA and AWCC have all been fixed and our relative positions in the convoy agreed. Tomorrow is going to be an interesting experience!
