Set off yesterday pm for Cowley where we enjoyed a pleasant meal in the "Malt Shovel". This place is now more of a restaurant than a pub, with full table service and a new menu. Very well looked after, we were.
Overnight lots of heavy rain, but this morning the rain has cleared and were got going at 8:00 for TESCO at Bulls Bridge where we will become re-victualled. Then, hopefully on to Paddington for a day or two before returning home.
Updating .... After Tesco, it started raining, gently at first, then thunder and finally really heavy rain for about an hour. We were probably moving at about the same speed as the shower. The Gortex jacket proved its worth again, but shorts soaked. I go barefoot in the summer. Barefeet dry quickly and keep warm in the rain on the engine deck board.
