Again, just cruising on the level today. We arrived at Rugby at about midday. The North Oxford is a well engineered canal with deep cuttings and embankments giving it a straight course. Sadly in many ways it seems neglected. There are shallows, and the deep cutting side near Brinklow has slumped. The towpath in many places is just a jungle, pretty well impassable for a cyclist. Vegetation also obscures many bridge approaches. Rugby boasts a useful supermarket by bridge 58.
