After a very long day we have nearly caught up with lost time. We stopped last night at Giffard Park because there was an easy mooring and it was now too dark to continue with ease. We figured that it was easier to go to bed and wake early and gain 2 extra hours that way. So it was up at 4 am, breakfast on the move and see how we got on. We had been promised help by BW with the main lock flights at Stoke Bruerne and Buckby, but we arrived at the bottom of Stoke Bruerne at 8:30 and shot up with little hindrance, so when the BW Manager rang to check on our progress, we were just about to enter Blisworth Tunnel. However, we did get help at Buckby and we had a most enjoyable ascent assisted by John Waterman which left us refreshed enough to drop down into Braunston where we arrived at 6:20. We found a good mooring fortunately opposite the Millhouse pub, and 30 minutes later were inside enjoying their weekend carvery and some well earned pints.
