Sunday 25th April
Given the lovely weather over the past two days it was not difficult to persuade the family and friends to have a day on the boat. To keep it simple and for maximum relaxation a late start and a short cruise to Copper Mil Lock with lunch at the Coy Carp seemed to fit the bill.
Expectations were realised. The Coy Carp is obviously very popular. It didn't open until 12 midday and by 12.15 there were long queues for the food bar and the separate drinks bar. The queuing (seemed like 1/2 hour) detracted somewhat from the overall customer experience and cannot be good overall for business in my opinion. We would have really enjoyed another round of drinks, but I for one was not going to repeat the experience of getting them and no one else seemed sufficiently motivated. Strange really because the art of making money these days is all about getting people to buy things they don't really want - isn't it?
